How it works

You don’t draw the heart. It assembles itself.

Each square card is divided by two diagonals into four triangular fields, and each field holds only half a drawing. You see the real symbol only when the edges of cards that happen to land side by side form a single picture. That is why it is half solitaire, half puzzle, half oracle.

Shuffle

The cards are shuffled like any others — their place is decided by chance, not by you.

Lay out

Place the cards face up, side by side, in a rectangle — edge to edge.

Pictures join

Where two halves meet, one symbol is born from two fragments. Elsewhere — silence remains.

What’s on the cards

Forty signs — from the letter to the reaper.

The symbols are drawn from several layers of European imagery: everyday life and fate, relationships, dangers and endings, Christian and classical signs, the heraldry of power, sky and nature. Some are familiar from old cartomancy, but here they live by their own rules.

Why the manor

Author unknown. First edition unknown. People remember that the cards existed. The mechanism survived. The symbols survived.

When the Tyszkiewicz family was building this palace, fortune-telling solitaires were in fashion in the salons of the empire — cards with the drawing cut in half, where chance lays out one’s fate. Whether they were played on evenings in Lentvaris too, no one wrote down. Something else was written down: according to surviving accounts, similar symbol cards were known in Lithuania between the wars, and one version may have been printed in Kaunas. We do not know the exact origin of this set of 40 symbols — and we do not hide it. We have preserved what survived: the mechanism, the symbols and the manor on the box.

Pickup at the manor (Klevų al. 48, Lentvaris) — free; we’ll email you when it’s ready. Delivery — to an LP Express parcel locker; the price is shown in the cart.

Questions people ask before buying

Short and honest.

Is this Tarot?

No. Tarot and Lenormand cards each carry a meaning of their own. Here a single card means nothing — the symbol and its interpretation appear only when two cards meet at the edges. It is the principle of solitaire and a puzzle, not of drawing cards.

Do I need to know how to read fortunes?

No. The layout rules and the meanings of all 40 symbols are on the instructions page — open it on your phone at the table. There is no paper booklet in the box. For the first evening it is enough to shuffle, lay out and see what has joined.

Are these real historical cards?

It is a reconstruction. Similar fortune-telling solitaires were widespread in Europe and in the salons of the empire; according to surviving accounts, such cards were known in Lithuania between the wars. We do not know the exact author, publisher or year, and we do not invent them — what has been preserved is the mechanism and the symbols.

How many people can play?

One — for yourself, or the whole table: one person lays out, the others watch what will form. Every layout is different, because the shuffle decides the beginning.
