This is what an audition looks like while the camera is still off: the director shows with his hands where the conversation breaks in the scene, make-up is fixed between takes, and the salon with its portraits quietly waits for “action”.
There is not a single frame of the film here. But this is exactly where it is decided who ends up in it.
